Eligibility*

The eligibility requirements for enrolling in credit-bearing courses include:

*The University reserves the right to restrict registration to those who can demonstrate the completion of the above requirements and to bar registration or withdraw a student who upon request fails to provide proper documentation or who demonstrates unacceptable performance once enrolled

Undergraduate Level Courses
Undergraduate courses (numbered 200-799) are open to individuals who hold a high school diploma or GED. Individuals not enrolled in a degree program may register for a maximum of 11 credits in the fall or spring. Registering for 12 or more credits requires special permission. Please note special permission is not required to exceed the 11 credit limit during the summer.

Individuals enrolled in a degree program are limited to 12 credits in the summer. Dean's permission is required to exceed that credit limit.

High school juniors and seniors with strong academic skills may apply to enroll in 400-500 level undergraduate courses in the fall, spring and summer through the CATS program.

Graduate Level Courses
Graduate courses (numbered 800-999) are open to individuals who hold a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Individuals not enrolled in a degree program may register for a maximum of 8 credits in the fall or spring. Registering for 9 or more credits require special permission. Please note special permission is not required to exceed the 8 credit limit during the summer.

Individuals enrolled in a degree program are limited to 12 credits in the summer. Dean's permission is required to exceed that credit limit.

Full-Time Special Student Status

Note: Non-degree students are not permitted to register for internships through UNH unless they are enrolled in a graduate certificate program.
